Happy Birthday Judah!

What a joy to celebrate Judah's first year of life! September 30th was the big day. Monty dressed Judah like a little man for the festivities - he looked so cute as you can see. Here he is playing with a bull Grandma Mowery sent. He is in front of a sign his sisters worked on all day the day before. They did a great job and even decorated it with lots of glitter that I still find on the rugs and sofa.
Judah had a "Noah's Ark" cake. We decided to make it chocolate and pretend the ark is sitting in the mud after the flood. Manon and Henna are really into Mega Blocks so I found Judah his own Mega Blocks last time we were in Bangkok. He now has something his sisters want to play with which helps them include him in their games.
Judah's first taste of Chocolate! He is licking it off his foot. "Happy Birthday to you. . ."

Here is Judah with some gifts his friends gave him. He got a really nice back pack, a hat, a lion beanie baby, a plastic golf set and several other things as well as many sweet cards the children made. He loved everything especially the toy cars!

Manon and Henna were the entertainment for the Party. They sang "The Fox on the Town-O" which their daddy helped with. If you have children you must learn this song. Papa Mowery is a fabulous singer and often records tapes for the girls to listen to. Their favorite is the one with the fox song and they listen to it every day. Manon had a fox puppet and Henna used a duck puppet for the goose - it was so cute!

The girls also performed an interpretive ballet dance to an old Charlie Hall song called "Js I am your bride." This is their favorite p&w song and they request Monty to play it every time he has his guitar out. They love the words because it talks about being the bride of Chr and dancing with Him. I thought the other children might be bored but they watched with awe as the girls danced and then asked Monty to play it again so they could also dance.

The Birthday Dinner. . . After the party our family enjoyed a hike to "the place that looks like heaven." We had a picnic of deviled eggs, ham sandwiches and sliced veggies (birthday party left-overs). Judah took long nap while the girls played in the mud and Monty and I laid on the mat and read poetry together. It was a delightful end to a delightful day.

Our cat Shella hiked with us. She is sure she is a dog and must always follow us anytime we walk somewhere. She was good to help us finish off the left-overs.
