Village days

As soon as we were unpacked from vacation we packed up again and headed up the mountain. Here we are in a village about 5 hours from our home.

Our girls love the village and often ask if we could move to a village. They love the life style of getting really dirty and not taking a bath. Here you can see Manon on a home made tricycle and Henna making a salad for dinner out of leaves and flowers she collected.

Monty and Judah are sleeping in a bit. If you can believe it I fit next to Judah smashed into the wall. It was cozy to say the least. Our host's grandmother kept coming in anytime Judah made the slightest fuss. They recently hooked up electricity in the house and had a bulb hanging from the celling in our room. Every night when we were in bed asleep the grandmother would come in and turn on the light to tell us that we have electricity. She then would throw sun flower seeds at the girls in their bed and tell them to eat.

"Excuse me, where is the restroom?" "Anywhere where you can't be seen." Maybe we will show this photo to Manon's friends when she is a teen-ager!

And here is Judah playing with some toys he found.

Germaine, you are so brave to take all three kids up into the hinterlands! I laughed out loud seeing the picture of your luxurious sleeping accomodations and hearing about the grandmother and the light bulb. Oh my, the adventures you're having! The girls do look right at home!

Thanks for sharing!
